What is Hot and Cold Process Soap?

Hot and cold process soaps are essentially the same, they both use fats (butters and oils), lye solution and scented oils or essential oils.

The main difference between the two are cure times. In cold process, the saponification process takes place over 4 to 6 weeks, at this point the soap is safe to use as all of the lye solution has reacted with the fats. In hot process, the saponification process is sped up by cooking the fats and lye solution together for 30 to 40 minutes until it becomes a gelatin like state, at this point colorants and scented oils or essential oils are added in. Hot process soaps are safe to use the next day, although we wait a week after making to allow them to fully harden. Hot process takes a bit longer up front, but saves 5 weeks of waiting for your soaps to cure.

The secondary differences is purely aesthetics. Hot process soaps have a more rustic "homemade" look, the colors are generally not as vibrant. Cold process soaps are where you will see the swirly patterns and vibrant colors. Both smell just as good and clean just the same.

We prefer hot process, but we make cold process also.

What is your typical batch size?

All of our soaps are "small batch". We make one loaf at a time, which gets between 8 to 10 bricks of soap per batch. Because they are hand made in small batches, colors will vary slightly from batch to batch.

What is your handling time?

We typically get orders shipped in 2 - 3 business days. This time may be delayed if we are traveling for a tournament, however we will keep you posted via the banner on our homepage.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unused and unopened in original packaging. Contact us to initiate a return.

How can I track my order?

Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number via email. You can also check your order status in your account.

Do you ship internationally?

Do you offer local pick-up?

Yes, if you are in the Dallas area we can arrange for a local pick up with our parents. Please be prepared to have your picture taken as proof of delivery.
